Swallowed in the Sea

Today is a random little post. I promise I have been sewing. I just haven’t taken photographs.:)7_14_07-030

I’ve been seeing all these different kinds of Dr. Marten boots lately. Silver, gold, floral. But I haven’t really liked them a whole lot. But these are just awesome! These I love! Donations anyone?:):)

I watched a movie called ‘Camille’ tonight. I’d never heard of it, but it had James Franco and Sienna Miller in it, so I figured it couldn’t be too bad. It was by no means an A-list movie; it had it’s share of movie gaffs. But, I really liked it. It was cute(so was James Franco;))!

Living Through Your Letters

Remember that eyelet fabric I talked about a few posts back? Like I mentioned, it was quite a steal! And I didn't want to make it into just anything. I used one of Hilary Duff's patterns (M5804), with the exception of how I cut the skirt. I didn't intend on it being this short (maybe some tights and knee high boots??:)) but I was working with what fabric I had.
I'm not so sure I LOVE it. All the gathering at the top........ I don't know. But, I do LIKE it!:)

Summer Nights

055057 051 This was a badly stained and too short shirt. My sister couldn’t wear it anymore, but the detail on the neckline and the color was too nice to throw away. (Also known as my excuses to not throw it away; I can come up with a lot really fast. If you’re going to throw something away, you might want to do it at night;))

So, I cut off the bottom part, then realized it was too short. So I sewed a strip back on; I used some fabric from a skirt I had made awhile ago for the bottom part. Then I cut off the hem of the shirt for the ties. Quite easy; and the bottom was already hemmed! Always a bonus!

Also, I received my package from Renanda Pennington by way of the My Mama Made It Gift Exchange. I couldn’t believe how much stuff she had put in one package!(forgot to take a picture of all of it). I received some awesome fabric and trims, and she even sent me a sewing pattern and thread!! Very cool! Thanks so much Renanda!!!

Well, I”m back! Hope everyone had a good Labor Day weekend!! I did; it was also my birthday! I am officially 18!:) One of my gifts was a pair of Gingher scissors. Now I won’t have to use my mom’s! And the first time I used  them was like slicing through melted butter (I know awful metaphor; all my good ones went to my English teacher:)) I just LOVE my scissors!!:) Also received a few things from this store. So cool! The flip flops  are awesome!

Also, I won a giveaway hosted by the Cafe Fashionista! I got to pick a bag from Envirosax. They have some really neat ones. And they’re really roomy!

And don’t worry, I have some project posts coming soon!
