Cuffed
I was going through the scraps from a project (you'll see it soon:) and was trying to think of something I could make from the cuffs of a mens dress shirt. Here's what I came up with. I'm not so sure I like it or will wear it, but... I have three more to practice on! :):) What do you guys think?? Does it have potential or is it absurd?:)
P.s. Don't mind the stray threads! :0

I love them! If it's good enough for Miu Miu...
ReplyDeletelook at this, it's from a year back but I loved it then and I love it now! If you can look through all the collection, I love the way they have them over a black long sleeved top. Lovely work!

I think there is potential, but I see the cuff as a bracelet. So I'm thinking adding ribbons or rhinestones or beads or something to make it more flashy!
ReplyDeleteSome people like cuffs. It could be a neat accessory to add with a 3/4 sleeve coat or something. I'm like you though, I at this point would not wear it too much. Would it fit on a coffee cup as a sleeve for it? That would be a cute and great easy way to make a coffee sleeve.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Trisha. You see this idea in mixed media work ... but there would be added embellishments...handmade charms or little beads and rhinestones to glam it up a bit...then wear it as an accesory! I like the start...keep going!
ReplyDeletei like the button on it! it could have some potential, I really like how miu miu worked it on the runway:))

Thanks guys! I'll keep your comments in mind when I make the other ones!!:):):)
ReplyDeleteahh yeh, like the idea of adding rhinestones maybe, turning into more of a jewellery cuff. Nice idea..

I am just glad someone cut off those things from a mans dress shirt ... they do not belong in any mans wardrobe at all ... u could use them as a wick doused with gasoline to start a fire and the world would be a better place for men who never want to see another man wear such things ever again ;)
ReplyDeleteI think it looks cool. Maybe style it with an outfit so we can put it in perspective.
ReplyDeletei cant say for ssure i would have to see it with the right look //
ReplyDeleteso i guess since i think there is a right look its not a hopeless accessory. :)
Jim, I don't think they had the ruffles and button when they were on the man's shirt... haha

Um, yeah:) I added the ruffles! That would have been a very fancy mens shirt though!:)
ReplyDeleteGreat idea. I agree with others, maybe a little more embelishment? But as a concept, its great..Reminds me of chanel for some reason?
