Giveaway Time!

Well, I promised that I would have a giveaway to celebrate the end of the semester. So, I should probably have one before the next semester starts!:) So, here are the rules:

1. You must be a follower of my blog.

2. There will be three (3) winners, picked at random by me.

3. Just leave a comment, telling me which of these three things you would like most, and a way to contact you, should you win!

All items are handmade by me.

First up is a key chain/lanyard. It’s exactly like the one from my previous post; I made two!:)

Beware: Picture Heavy

You guys didn’t actually think I sewed nothing all those blog post-less weeks did you?!? Ok, well, I mostly didn’t, and as soon as Christmas break came, I did some major cram sewing (yes, I am inventing words for this post). But I did do some work here and there. I wasn’t able to get pictures of all of the presents I made, and most are just of the fabric, but here is what I made for  Christmas this year.

I made pajamas out of these four fabrics. The first three are flannel (JoAnns is a rip off!:() and the last one is from a sheet. I especially like the frog fabric!:) It’s so cute!

A backpack made from this fabric. My niece, Karah,  is obsessed with Spiderman!

Then, this Stupid Creature, for my nephew. I found the instructions for this on Threadbangers.  The best part? His mouth is a pocket!! Another reason to like this creature, is that he’s mismatched and irregularly shaped on purpose. Meaning a mistake I may or may not make goes unnoticed!:):)

This keychain/lanyard. What do you call these anyway?!? Keyholders?:) I don’t know.:)

And, this year we made our very first gingerbread man (well, my mom did anyways). And a gingerbread girl!:) I wanted to make a gingerbread house, but my mom said it was too much work for something that was just going to be eaten!

I won’t be back on before the Holiday, so I wish you all a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HAPPY HOLIDAYS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!!:):):):):):):):):)

Pattern Exchange!

I have a lot of patterns; many of them are old (or “vintage”:)) and I will never use them. Plus, sizing before the 80’s is off, and is very frustrating to fit to modern sizes!:) I thought it would be fun if you could get new patterns for getting rid of old patterns without having to buy any! So, instead of just getting rid of them, I decided to follow after Angela, from Sew I Thought. Below are the rules, borrowed from her blog. I hope you guys participate in the fun!:) And check out Angela’s blog; it’s great!:)

  1. In order to be eligible to receive a pattern I am asking that you either become a follower, or post a link on your blog. If you link to me on your blog post the link in your comment so I can check out  your blog and see what you are up to. Of course ideally I would ask that you send me a pattern in exchange but I know that’s not always possible so its not required
  2. Each person is allowed to request 2 patterns without sending me anything in exchange. Even if you plan on sending me something in exchange I  still ask that you only request 2 patterns per week to give more people a chance to get in on the action!
  3. I will post 5 patterns per week. I ask that you leave a comment with the pattern number or numbers you would like and your e-mail address so I can e-mail you to get your info for mailing them. I suggest you write out your e-mail to avoid spammers getting a hold of it.
  4. I will be posting both modern and vintage patterns but since I have so many vintage patterns, newer ones would be preferable. If I get something from you I will do my best to post about it, and make it.
  5. I will do my best to check each pattern for completeness and post as much information with each pattern photo but don’t murder me if a sleeve facing is missing or something, okay?
  6. As I will paying the postage, I would prefer not to  mail internationally, unless you are for sure going to send something in exchange .

Cog in the wheel

All right! More stuff up in the shop! Some pictures below. Like before, let me know if you think I should change something, or if you notice something funny!:) I’m still not so sure about the pricing of things, so let me know, please!:)

Also, to celebrate the end of my first semester of college, (woohoo!) I have decided to host a giveaway! I do not know what I will be giving away yet, but I will keep you posted! What do you guys think!?:)

Stuff, stuff and stuff

I posted some more things in my shop! Sorry it’s been so slow. I won’t be able to post more than 2 to 3 things at a time, until school is out for Christmas break. I have been working on some things though, so hopefully, after finals, I’ll have more up. And one of these days, I’ll get around to posting something that I made for me:)

To make up for no project photos, here are some of my faves this week. :)

Dusk and Summer

033 032 053 011This was a long, ankle length skirt that I found at a thrift store. I loved the color (grayish blue) and the fabric (corduroy!!) but not the length. So I chopped off about two feet and then used that fabric to make the ruffle. Simple, easy and fast, without cutting into homework time. :( Christmas break can’t come soon enough!!!

Speaking of Christmas; I want to know, what is your favorite season/holiday?? I absolutely LOVE Christmas and winter; snow, Christmas lights, Santa, even the hurried shoppers in the mall. I love it all. So, how about you!?!?
