I like my Stripes a Little Crooked

This is what I made my niece for her 5th b-day. It started out as a men's polo; I used a basic tank top pattern for the top and went from there. I had  a lot of little scraps left from the shirt, so I pieced them together to make the bottom ruffle; I turned the squares every other one, for extra effect:) And I love pockets, so I just had to add one;)

One for You and One for Me

I have been busy lately making a lot of these little pouches. They are very easy to make, and it’s the perfect thing to make out of all those little pieces of fabric I have! The first two are ones I made for friends; the rest are all up for sale in my Etsy Store (which I have redone a bit by the way. Hopefully its more clear and defined!) Go ahead and take a look and tell me what you think!:)

The Incredible Mr. Limpet

I was trying to think up a title, and this is what I came up with….first thing on the top of my mind, when I was thinking about fish;) It IS a good movie though…..

anyways, on to the project! I have had this crazy fish print for awhile, and had no idea what to do with it. So, I did what I usually do, and made some obnoxious cute clothing for my nephew! I am officially calling it his Fish Suit.

As you can see it was very hard to take a picture of him wearing it, and eventually he gave up and walked away. I wouldn’t count on a career in modeling for him;)

“When you hear hoofbeats, think horses, not zebras.”

Here is the bag that I made for my friend.  I don’t really like zebra striped stuff, but even I was kinda likin this bag by the time I was finished;)

My carry on is cuter than yours

I recently bought this pattern, because I was going to make a  bag for my friend, and it looked like the perfect one. So, like any good friend, I tested out the pattern and made a bag for me first. I love it! And, it’s the perfect size for a carry on if I decide to go somewhere someday;) So, here are pics of mine, and the next post will be pics of my friends bag (think polka dots and zebra stripes). Just so you know, the stripes are a cream and dark brown, and the flower print is light purple and black. My camera wasn’t picking up the colors very well.

Rocket Science

Ok, can I just say that I really like this one? And mostly because it included so little effort and turned out so cute. Sometimes you just need those low effort projects (and anything that uses bias tape is good with me;))

This used to be a tunic/top that I just didn’t wear enough.

So, I turned it into this dress; well it was supposed to be a dress, but turned out shorter than I wanted, so it’s more of a tunic:) Nothing some cute little, white shorts wouldn’t fix! The top is just a basic top pattern that I cut in half to make it shorter (more of an empire waist). I bias taped the edges, gathered the skirt and sewed it on! Ta-da!
