It Piles Up…

So, yeah…. I thought this skirt would be cute to wear in the Summer. Turns out squares aren’t a good thing for my hips!;) Do you ever have an image in your mind of what you’re making, and then you put it on and it looks horrible on you?? That’s what happened here!:( I guess it will be cute for someone!

The fabric is from some curtains I bought at Goodwill. The tag says JcPenneys. I really liked the squares and the whole ‘retro’ feel. There was enough to make two nice, full skirts, and I was gonna sell one, and keep the other…. looks like I might be selling both… sigh!

028051 033 031I even tried moving the fabric to the back, to see if the fullness is what made it so horrible. No such luck.053 All well, not every project can be great! I guess….

    what do you mean?!?! i think this looks so cute on you!!!! i like this a lot!!! hahaha i have had those moments where i picture it so perfectly and then it turns out a little off. also, i like the look with the vest unbuttoned!

    I don't think it looks bad at all! But if you don't like it, pass it on to someone who'll love it and appreciate a handmade item. Lovely fabric and sewing on this!

    I think the skirt looks really nice, and since the rest of your body is thin, you can carry it off well.

    Actually, I think the close up bottom picture looks best and I wonder if you would like it better if it was less 'full' and more 'straight'. I think in that picture it is very flattering. The fabrics are delicious!
